How do I create a Meritwise account?

Creating a Meritwise account is simple and takes less than 2 minutes:

  • Download the Meritwise app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store
  • Click "Sign Up" and enter your phone number
  • Verify your phone number with the OTP sent to you
  • Set up your security PIN
  • Complete your profile with basic information
  • You're all set! Start enjoying seamless payments

How do I fund my Meritwise wallet?

You can fund your wallet through multiple convenient methods:

  • Bank Transfer: Transfer from any Nigerian bank to your unique Meritwise account number
  • Debit Card: Add funds instantly using your ATM card
  • USSD: Dial the provided USSD code from any phone
  • Bank Branch: Make deposits at any participating bank

All funding methods are instant and secure. Funds reflect in your wallet immediately.

Is there a minimum amount to fund my wallet?

Yes, the minimum funding amount is ₦100. There's no maximum limit, but individual transactions may have limits based on your verification level. Complete your KYC to enjoy higher transaction limits.

How do cashback rewards work?

How it works:

  • Every bill payment earns you cashback (typically 0.5% - 2% depending on the service)
  • Cashback is credited instantly to your wallet
  • No minimum threshold - use your cashback immediately
  • The more you transact, the more you earn

How long do transactions take to process?

Transaction processing times vary by service:

  • Airtime & Data: Instant (usually within seconds)
  • Electricity: Instant (token delivered within 1-5 minutes)
  • Cable TV: Within 5-10 minutes
  • Bank Transfers: Instant during banking hours

Most transactions are completed within minutes. If you experience delays beyond the stated time, contact our in-app support.

What if my transaction fails but I was debited?

Don't worry! Failed transactions are automatically reversed to your wallet within 24 hours (usually much faster). If your funds aren't returned within 24 hours:

  • Contact our in-app support with your transaction reference
  • Our team will investigate and resolve the issue promptly
  • You'll receive a full refund to your wallet

We track all transactions and ensure no funds are lost.

You can easily reset your PIN:

  • Open the Meritwise app
  • On the login screen, tap "Forgot PIN?"
  • Verify your identity with OTP sent to your registered phone number
  • Create a new 4-digit PIN
  • Confirm your new PIN

Make sure to choose a PIN that's memorable but secure. Don't use obvious combinations like 1234 or your birth year.

Can I use Meritwise on multiple devices?

Yes! You can access your Meritwise account on multiple devices. When you log in on a new device, you'll receive an OTP for verification. For security reasons, active sessions on other devices may be logged out when you sign in on a new device.

Are there any transaction fees?

Meritwise keeps fees minimal and transparent:

  • Airtime & Data: No fees! Plus you earn cashback
  • Electricity & Cable: No fees! Plus you earn cashback
  • Bank Transfers: Standard banking fees apply (₦10-50 depending on amount)
  • Wallet Funding: FREE via all methods

Can I get a refund if I made a wrong transaction?

Refund policies depend on the type of transaction:

Airtime/Data to wrong number: Unfortunately, once airtime/data is delivered, it cannot be reversed. Always double-check the number before confirming.

Failed transactions: Automatically refunded within 24 hours.

Duplicate payments: Contact support immediately with transaction details for investigation.

Service not delivered: Report within 24 hours for a full refund or reprocessing.
